Here are my meanings and examples for similes and metaphors:

Simile- A metaphor uses either ‘AS’ or ‘LIKE’ to make one. An example is Good as gold.

Metaphor- A metaphor is sayin g something is something. An example is the clouds are cotton wool.

  5. Hi it’s Brian here,

For those that are just visiting 4/5p blog in class we have been giving homework just like others and ours has to be given in by Monday and the rest by Thursday. 4/5p students has to post a comment on the blog for the Monday homework, and it has to be saying what a medthore and a similes are.

I think a metaphor is describing what something is and a simile is what something is like.

Simile—- my brother is like a monkey.
Metaphor —- my brother is a monkey.

    Bye for now
    Brian

  6. Hi 4/5p,

Do you know what is a Metaphors and Similes?

Metaphors and Similes are used to make your writing interesting.

Metaphors add description use is or are unlike comparison.

Similes describe things similar use like or as.

  7. Hey,
found out that a metaphor is a saying or phrase that is said and its not really true. Examples are:
*Fade of to sleep- you don’t actually fade away to never be seen again, it just means you go to sleep fast and simply.
*Broken hart- you don’t have a broken hart when people say that, it just basically means you feel really sad and very lonely.
So the phrases aren’t very true you just say it for some thing different.

Similies are sayings that is saying the same us something and it uses ‘as’ or ‘like.
    Examples are:
    *As busy as a beaver.
    * Your got ears as big as a elephant!
And similies are also usely to be very funny!

That’s all I have got for you today about (sing it with me) ‘similies and metaphors’

    Got to go
    Bailey 🙂 🙂 🙂

  8. Hi it’s Emily , a similie is like a comparison and a metaphor is like a comparison as well. This is a exsample of what a similie would say , fly like a eagle. This is what a metaphor would say , that was a breeze. Well i guese that’s all i have to say so bye , from Emily:)

  9. Hi,
A simile is a sentence that has like or as in it. Here is an eg. a panda is as soft as a pillow.
Metophor eg. a piece of cake.

    from Scarlet

  10. Dear Mrs. Placek

A metaphor is a comparison like ‘easy as a piece of cake’ and ‘you could eat a horse’.

A simile is another copmparison like ‘I’m as hungry as a pig’ or ‘we are as sleepy as a koala’.

We hope that this will suffice as we need to go now. Bye!

  11. Hi 4/5P and world, 😀
    Its Olivia M here. 🙂
I just watched the video it is very funny! A Metaphor and Simile are comparison in all different ways. A Simile has a as or like in it. Or you could also say a Simile is to compare something with another thing. Here is some examples
    – As easy as a pie
    – Like the stars and the moon
    – Good as gold
    – Like a bump on a log
    – His as big as a house
    – Like two peas in a pod
    – As strong as an Oz
    – Fly like an Eagle
    – You’re as cute as a button

A Metaphor is a phrase or a saying. Or you could also say a Metaphor is not that true.
    – The apple to my eye
    – You got a smile that lights up the room
    – Sometimes your hot
    – Sometimes your cold
    – My beautiful flower
    – Life is a highway
    – She’s a star
    – Music to my ears
    – That was a breeze
    – Stop your snake
    – Into each life
    – A little rain must fall
    – Into each life a little rain must fall

I think that’s all I have to say for now.
    Got to go now,
    Olivia M
